Time for an update
I haven’t been writing much lately, but there’s a lot on.
Right now I’m sitting on the couch watching Crouching Tiger (I love that movie) while Sebastian has a nap. His mummy is off visiting a friend in hospital.
I’m off to Brisbane tomorrow evening for a meeting on Tuesday, and then coming back Tuesday night. Next week I’m in Canberra for the SAGE-AU conference, and the week after that I’ll be in Melbourne for a day with another meeting.
Work’s busy, as you can see. We’ve got a new sysadmin to take over part of my job in order to give me more time to concentrate on the APAC National Grid project. I like to think of him as my minion, but unfortunately I couldn’t get that included in his job title. So far he’s more than made up for a lack of experience by demonstrating enthusiam and the ability to learn quickly, so it’s working out well.
In family news, our obstetrician has told us that we’ll be having an elective caesarian at 38 weeks. That’s about 4 weeks from now, so I don’t see myself becoming less busy any time soon! However our obstetrician also told us that he’s taking a holiday (for the first time in a few years, apparently), and so our baby boy Oliver is going to be delivered by another doctor instead.
In an “only in Hobart” twist, it turns out that the new obstetrician is the father of my new minion at work. Gotta love this city..
